Suicide Prevention Workshop 2021
As part of the Safeguarding Week 2021 campaign we invited Pat Sowa along to give a talk on Suicide Prevention
The workshop explored the responsibility of professionals and also highlighted the resources and tools to support suicide prevention.
Pat Sowa shared her experience and expertise in suicide prevention with the aim of inspiring participants to think about what they can personally do to prevent avoidable deaths.
Pat spoke about some of the lessons learnt through the loss of her son, Dom, at the age of 17 and shared a little of what can be done to prevent suicide across the UK in both young people and adults.
The aim of the workshop was, and is, to inspire professionals to ask what more they can do at work, at home and in the community, to raise awareness and improve the skills and knowledge needed to make everyone safer from suicide.
The recording of the workshop can be viewed by clicking the YouTube link below.
